So You’re Thinking About Moving to Central Texas? Here’s What Nobody Tells You.

As someone who lives, works, and raises two little girls in Central Texas, I get asked all the time: “What’s it really like living here?”

And honestly? It’s one of my favorite questions.

You’ll hear people talk about affordable housing, great schools, and our location between Austin and Waco. Those things are true. But there are also a few things you won’t find on Zillow.

You’ll Spend More Time Outside Than You Think

Whether it’s youth sports, splash pads, lake days, parks, farmers markets, or backyard cookouts, Central Texas families tend to spend a lot of time outdoors.

On any given weekend, you’ll find families at Lake Belton, Pace Park in Salado, local baseball fields, or grabbing snow cones after church.

Your Dollar Still Goes Further Here

While home prices have increased over the years, many families moving from larger metro areas are pleasantly surprised by what they can still afford in Bell County.

A larger yard.
An extra bedroom.
A dedicated office.
A neighborhood pool.

Those things are often attainable here without the price tag you’d find in bigger cities. Community Still Matters

One of my favorite things about this area is how connected people are.

You run into people at football games.
You see your neighbors at local events.
Small businesses support one another.

It’s the kind of place where people still wave when they drive by.

The Best Part? It’s a Great Place to Raise a Family

My husband and I chose to build our life here, and every year I’m more grateful we did.

If you’re considering a move to Temple, Belton, Salado, Academy, or anywhere in Bell County, I’d love to be a resource.

Even if you’re months away from moving, I’m always happy to answer questions and help you learn more about the area.

Welcome to Central Texas.
